A South Florida IT firm built on straight answers.
Flat Rate Geek was founded in Miami in 2007 on a simple idea: you should know what technology work will cost before it begins. Nearly two decades later, that’s still the whole business model.
From flat-rate repairs to the network behind the event.
The name came first. In 2007, every computer repair shop in Miami billed by the hour, and nobody could tell you what the bill would be until it arrived. Flat Rate Geek opened with one price per device, fixed or configured, and a promise that if we couldn’t fix it, you didn’t pay. Enough people liked that idea that we survived 2008, and the ones who liked it most were the small businesses — the dental office, the law practice, the contractor — who wanted the same honesty for everything else their business ran on.
So the business followed them. Repairs became network installations; network installations became managing the whole office; managing the office became Microsoft 365, cloud identity, cameras, and door access. Along the way, event producers started calling, because a parking lot full of ten thousand phones is the hardest Wi-Fi problem there is and we’d gotten good at hard Wi-Fi problems. Today that work — festivals, conferences, film and television sets — runs under our Wi-Fi Jesus brand.
What hasn’t changed: it’s owner-operated. The person who walks your office and writes the quote supervises the job to the end and answers the phone afterward — whether he’s doing the work himself or directing a trusted crew. We serve Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties, in English and Spanish, and we quote a flat rate for any job we can define — which is most of them.
